![]() The word on the street with some of the military spec ops crowd is that newer Sigs tend to have reliability issues, but most people don't subject their guns to enough abuse for that to matter. My P229 has been reliable so far, no jams, no FTF or FTE incidents (which is more than I can say for any of the Glocks or M&P's I've owned) although i probably have less than 1,000 rounds through mine. On the other hand the DA/SA trigger in SA mode is sweet for range work, and the weight is actually in advantage for target shooting. ![]() Both are relevant only for concealed carry, it's just a little heavy for that, I don't like DA/SA with the different first shot and followup pull weights, and while I haven't tried the DAK trigger I don't like what I've heard and it just sounds backwards. I like the factory sights on the Sig.įor me the downsides of the P229 are the weight and the trigger. The shorter grip of the P229 probably helps when concealing a little. The grip length is slightly shorter than a P30 and the barrel is very slightly longer, almost the same for practical purposes. The P229 is a perfectly fine gun in most ways. I've moved almost entirely to HK, although I don't have a P30 I do own a P2000 and a USPc. I have a P229, actually it's for sale at the moment because I've outgrown it.
